Status Report 2004

Due to experiencing problems with high RPM power, I decided to make my own logging system for the Z.
I defined the following inputs that I want to log:
- AF-ratio (left and right side)
- RPM
- Manifold pressure
- Waste gate control pressure (to monitor the boost controller)
- Speed
- Fuel pressure
- Gear selection
- Injectory duty cycle
- Ignition
- Intake temperature
- Throttle level
- MAF voltage (left and right)
- EGT (left and right)

This is the main screen where all values are presented.

Main screen

The following picture shows the air flow ratio graph window (I'm using wide band O2-sensors).
When the mouse pointer is placed on the graph then the corresponding measurement values are presented at the bottom of the window. The TP value (calculated by the program) together with RPM is used to point to the fuel/ignition map of the ECU. In this way I know where to make changes in the maps.

AFR

The next picture shows the pressure and injector duty cycle page. It helps me to keep an eye on fuel delivery and the boost controller operation (Pressure2 curve).

Pressure

I've also developed a third graph window showing the exhaust gas temperature together with ignition point.

After numerous runs and tweaks to the ECU map I've come to the conclusion that whatever I do with the map, I still got problems with high end power. The plan for the winter is to replace the cams and valve springs with JWT 400+ ones.

Stay tuned!
