Norway 2000

This is a country well worth seeing. Be prepared for the rain though. :(
This summer is a rainy one so this week was no exception.
The roads are very fun for a Z-driver, they are hardly ever straight...
Even the big ones (like E-134) are often getting so small that it's hard to pass a car going in the opposite direction. I was most worried of meeting a big truck around a corner. The Z isn't exactly a small car...
We were also taking some shortcuts through the mountains and those roads are really small. There is only room for one car and there are only meeting points where the road gets wider for a few meters.

One of the most impressive roads was the one going to Lysebotn at the end of Lysefjorden which is one of the most beautiful fjords in Norway. The road climbs almost 1000m along the side of the mountain.

There is also a tunnel on this mountain side which is totally dark and only wide enough for one car with a couple wider meeting points inside.

I would also recommend climbing the mountains surrounding the fjords for some marvelous views.
We weren't so lucky with the weather so this is what we saw instead of a 1000m steep view:

This is the famous Kjerag stone hanging 1000 meters above the sea! You can actually stand on top of it if you dare....
A couple more pictures we took at the Lysefjorden:

And now some pictures from the roads around there:

There are also plenty of stunning waterfalls to be seen.

When coming above 1000 meter above the sea, be prepared to see some snow. Many roads are only open during the summer!

I can warmly recommend visiting this cold country, if you like wild nature, that is.
There are no problems with accommodation. Just visit tourist information when you get there.
Hotels are very expensive so we stayed at private pensions for a price ~350NOK per room.
If you want to have dinner at a restaurant then it's ~130-200NOK per person.
We found Norway to be expensive in comparison to Sweden where we could eat lunch at a restaurant for 50SEK per person (NOK ~ SEK).

Bye bye Norway! We shall definitely return!
